Arvind Kejriwal ready to form new party "Pahle AAP"

Arvind Kejriwal

Fed up with the relentless opposition by Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan - the two heavy weight founding members of AAP - Arvind Kejriwal is reported to have offered his resignation at the Party's 320-member National Council that is underway in New Delhi.

Yadav, who has taken up the leadership of the dissidents in the Party with the support of Bhushan, also staged a dharna to protest alleging that at least 15-20 legitimate members, invited for the meeting, were not being allowed by the Kejriwal camp apparently to deny them the opportunity to vote.

Sources close to Yadav and Bhushan have informed F4Fnews that these leaders want to take over the control of AAP by ousting Kejriwal and his supporters. According to them it was Prashant Bhushan's father, former law minister Shanti Bhushan, who laid the financial foundation of AAP as a political party by donating Rs. 1 crore in November 2012. "So, it's not surprising that Prashant will have the first right to own the party and its infrastructure," they argue.

A few tech savvy members of AAP's National Council have been secretly broadcasting live video stream of the meeting through the newly launched Twitter app "Periscope". Those who could manage to see the live meeting have told F4Fnews (OCOA) that at one point Kejriwal was so furious that, instead of crying, he shouted on rebels and offered to totally dissociate from AAP and form a new party. He even revealed the name of his new party which according to these viewers was "Pahle AAP." However, we have not been able to confirm this news independently from any of our reliable or unreliable sources.

Moreover, according to an unconfirmed report from Congress HQ, Rahul Gandhi, fearing his expulsion from the Party, has expressed his willingness to join 'Pahle AAP". Rahul is likely to be expelled from the party, if the rumours going on in the capital are to be believed. Another report, from erstwhile stalwarts of Congress Party, mentions about Sonia Gandhi's invitation to Kejriwal to join the Congress as its President in view of the mounting opposition to Rahul.  Similarly, there are strong rumours that senior BJP leaders have been instructed to convince Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan to merge with BJP so that Delhi's problems can be solved without any Party considerations. “We have been given all freedom to "En Ken Prakaren" achieve this goal,” said one of the senior most leaders entrusted with this job. This leader was so excited to tell us about his assignment that he even revealed what rewards he would get if he was successful in this mission.

Main Things to Watch :
  • Whether New Party “Pahle AAP” will be formed?
  • Whether Kejriwal will be Congress President?
  • Whether Rahul Gandhi join “AAP” or “Pahle AAP”
  • Who will “AAP” or “Pahle AAP” merge with? Congress or BJP?
"Next few days are going to be very crucial for the people of Delhi because not only their current CM's fate will be decided but also whether "AAP" or "Pahle AAP" will rule Delhi. The worst case scenario that Delhi will be again back to the grand old players - Congress or BJP - is also not being ruled out," said a Professor of Political Science at the JNU on condition of anonymity (OCOA) because he is retiring next month.
